About the Band

We’re a standard British-style brass band, enjoying the challenge and fun of playing for audiences in our local community and further afield. As well as concerts, we play at public and private events including garden parties, village fêtes, weddings and official occasions. In the run-up to Christmas we play at church carol services and community carol singing.

Easingwold (population approx. 5,500), is 12 miles (18km) north of the city of York. The Easingwold Town Band is one part of the traditional appeal which makes our growing market town an attractive place – for new arrivals and established residents alike – to live and bring up a family.

Our Players

Our players, from school-age to pensioners, live in Easingwold and its neighbouring communities, and in York and elsewhere in the region. The young and adult learners in our Beginners’ Group and Development Band rehearse on Friday evenings, with opportunities to sit in with the Town Band at its Monday evening rehearsals.

Charity & Community

The Easingwold Town Band is a registered charity (no. 1194820) which owns its premises (‘the Bandroom’) close to Easingwold’s Market Place. We meet our running costs by means of an annual members’ subscription and the performance fees we earn, with the help of grants and donations and the financial support of Easingwold Town Council.
